On Monday, May 1st, we hosted our final Parent Pop In session for the school year. This was the last of a six-part series developed to nurture meaningful collaborations between families, staff, and community partners. Our school resource officer, Deputy Hilliard, spoke with families about staying safe during the summer months. He was also able to present the families with new bicycle helmets just in time for the warmer weather! These were graciously donated by the Somerset County Sheriff's Office. Mrs. Kristen Boston from the State's Attorney's Office spoke to families about the continued importance of attendance. Miss Somerset County Fair, Lauren Skorobatsch, greeted and spent time with families and students. Our local Health Department partnered with U of MD Extension and 4H to provide water bottles, information on staying hydrated, and skin care in the summer months. Families also received sunblock and other warm weather essentials. Finally, families and partners were treated to a local favorite, Chilly Dawgs. It was a great night of conversation and collaboration. We are excited to host the series again next year.
