TENNIS NEWS!!!
Tennis had the BEST season EVER! Shout out to ALL the players and their coaches! Coach Shannon Noble and Coach Joseph Sabo have to be very proud of their team! All of us Jags are extremely proud in #JagNation!
Scott "RACKETED" to win regionals yesterday! He won the Regional for Varsity Tennis 1A Boys Singles. He was down 0 sets to 1 set, made some crucial adjustments after the first set and came back to win the second set which resulted in a "match tie-breaker," and he clutched it 10 -3. He is headed to States on May 25th.
Clinton and Jemes won their regionals for Varsity Tennis 1A Boys Doubles yesterday. They did not allow the opponent to win a single game, and reeled off 12 straight wins to take the two set needed to win the match. "They played out of their minds" according to Coach Sabo. They are also headed to States on the 25th of May.
"They all played in a single elimination regional tournament on Tuesday (where the Girls Singles Ashlynn, and Girls Doubles Helen and Briseida, and Mixed Doubles Clarissa and Keysi fought hard but lost), and advanced to the second round yesterday, and came out on top. We missed winning the whole tournament by 2 points too but all and all they fought HARD." stated Coach Sabo.
When I spoke with Scott and Jemes they were two of few words. Jemes said that he would use these words or phrases to summarize their season "win after win, undefeated, amazing people on our team and amazing partners, and we are now, the top dogs in the South." Scott stated that he would summarize the season as "the underdog story, Bayside and Regional Champs, and a lot of other things." His excitement is contagious! He said he is looking forward to States to play against competition that I've never played before!" And, he is looking forward to harder matches than he has ever played in before!" He wants and is ready for the challenge. Jemes stated that he feels the same and is ready for the challenge that State brings!
EVERYONE in #JagNation should be proud of the accomplishments this team has had and will continue to have! #JagNation tennis rackets are on fire! Good luck guys as you head to States on the 25th! We will be watching!!!
