Schools are closed Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 for students & instructional staff. 12-month staff should report at 10am or use liberal leave. We appreciate the state, county, & town employees working to clear the roads. Despite their best efforts, high winds & frigid temperatures continue to make roads unsafe for school bus travel. As always, we will provide updates as needed through all SCPS communication channels.

Today's Fun Fact Friday is about Mr. Wyatt. Did you know that Mr. Wyatt was All State in Choir in middle school?! Stop by and ask him to sing you a song and see if he still has it!

Today's Trivia Tuesday comes from the music/choral department. Did you know that there are roughly 9,274 songs about or for Christmas. If you were to sing every Christmas song for 3.5 minutes each, you would need to sing them 24/7 from December 1 to December 24 to get through them all.

Happy Thanksgiving! We have several Thankful Thursday shoutouts! I am thankful for my hallmates Larwood, Fontaine and Mourisseau! They keep me grounded, supported, and validated!-Dr. Tower I am thankful for Mrs. Scott for always being quick to open the library door when I need in the room! -Mrs. Bradford I am grateful for Ms. Coleman. I believe that she is the glue that holds staff together here at Washington High. Whenever we need her she is ready to jump into action and assist in whatever way we need. Even on the rough days, she still is willing to offer a smile and word of encouragement for everyone. We love you and appreciate you Ms. Coleman. Thanks for keeping us together. -anonymous I'm thankful for everyone who wished me a happy birthday- I got cards, a sign, candy, emails, etc from a lot of students and staff. It made me feel really special.-Ms. Larwood I am thankful for my coworkers in the SPED office. They make coming to work very enjoyable and so much fun. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that nobody sees and all these staff members deserve recognition and gratitude. Thanks for all you do!-Mrs. Fontaine I am thankful for some amazing staff members like Dr. Tower, Ms. Henderson, Mr. Sami, Mrs. Austin, Mrs. Noble, Mrs. Asano, Mrs. Bradford, and so many others for being a listening ear and/or putting a smile on my face, whether its a crazy statement or a side glance after witnessing something in the hallways; I appreciate you!
